Verify.

A verified badge on R U MY means that person has confirmed their phone number. You can't pay for the badge. Photos are reviewed before anyone else sees them.

You tell R U MY when you sleep, how tidy you keep things, how often you have people over and how much noise you're fine with. The app compares that with each housemate and shows you where you line up and where you don't.

With rents and the cost of living where they are, a lot of people now share from uni right through to saving for a deposit. That's a lot of moves, and each one has meant starting again with people you don't know.

The R U MY app stays with you the whole way. Your profile, your verification and your match settings come with you to the next house, so you're not starting from scratch each time. It's an app you keep after you've found a place.

Phone verification

Verified on R U MY means one thing today: the person has confirmed their phone number. Look for the badge on their profile.

Photos reviewed first

Every photo is reviewed before anyone else sees it. That goes for profile photos and room photos.

Real numbers only

When we show a median rent or a count, it comes from real data. If the sample is too small to be reliable, we show the count on its own or leave it out.

Report anything that's off

You can report a listing, a photo or a person from inside the app. Reports are read by a person, and the verified badge is never for sale.

What we don't do: we don't run police checks or rental history checks, so the badge says nothing about anyone's past. ID verification is on the way. Until it's live, verified means a confirmed phone number and nothing more.

Where does the R U MY app work?

Melbourne first. We're open across Melbourne, and you can already see rent data for 73 suburbs.

What does "verified" mean on R U MY?

Right now it means phone verified. A profile with the badge has confirmed its phone number. Photos are also reviewed before they appear. ID verification is coming, and until it's live we won't count it as part of the badge. We don't check anyone's history.

How much does the R U MY app cost?

It's free to join, match and message.

I've got a room. How do I list it?

List it in the app or at rumy.online. Add the room, then tell people about the house and who you're looking for. Seekers on R U MY see who lives there as well as the room, so it's worth being upfront.
